A big thank-you to Hobart emergency personnel. I was at a store recently, when the clerk had to call for an ambulance. The responders arrived within two minutes.

How about repaving Georgia Street east of 53rd Avenue? Drivers are using the opposite side of the street to avoid potholes. It’s an accident waiting to happen.

Indiana has an idiotic public school funding formula that rewards lower-achieving school systems at the expense of higher-achieving school systems. To be fair, give every public school system in the state the same amount per student.

A referendum for higher taxes to bail out the Valparaiso schools won’t fly until teachers and administrators are held accountable and the schools are run more like businesses.

To the person complaining about getting junk hauled away: You may put out one bulk item a week to be picked up. Otherwise, you have to get a truck and get the junk hauled away yourself. It’s not the city’s responsibility to pick up your junk.
