Quickly’s Neighbors, Feb. 13

Updated: March 14, 2012 8:06AM

I’m traveling westbound on U.S. 12, it’s 11 o’clock at night. We just had a little bit of snow; the streets are sort of wet. I’m going 55 mph, the speed limit. I was just passed by a police officer going at least 70 mph, and then he accelerated and he must have been hitting 90 by the time he turned into Ogden Dunes. There were no lights flashing or anything like that.

I hope the residents of Cedar Lake heed the warning from our postmaster: Please mail at least one piece of first-class mail at least once a week. We are talking jobs and convenience, so please utilize our town’s businesses. We are a great community, let’s keep it that way.

To the Winfield Town Council, you guys need to come a few minutes early to your next meeting and pick up the litter in front of the government center.

To the new mayor of Gary: I know you’ve just gotten in and you are doing a wonderful job so far, but for three years there’s been tires and debris on 19th and Clark Road, down 19th Avenue. It would be greatly appreciated if you would get someone to clean the street and all the debris on the sides of the streets.

Why aren’t there comments about Whiting, either negative or positive? Although some good points could be made, there are some decisions that could be left open for discussion.
