Why did the playground at Jerry Ross Park in Crown Point shrink and get partially replaced by batting cages for the youth baseball fields? There are so many people with small children who enjoy this park. Why is it all sports, at any cost, in this city, and nothing else counts?

There are 13 churches in Cedar Lake. Does the town know how much tax money it is losing because of this?

For heaven’s sake, Gary, crack down on those boom boxes! The people with migraines, brain injuries, heart problems, recuperating from surgeries, etc., have no other defense against people who don’t care one bit about others.

Regarding the 15th Avenue-Cleveland Street issue: It’s illegal to cut the grass on city property, just as it is illegal to plow the road with a private vehicle.

I will not support an increased public safety tax in Merrillville as long as they continue to allow officers to drive their police cars home. The officers are allowed to take the cars not only out of town, but also out of the county.

Cedar Lake Town Council: When it comes to the Parks Department, you should know your boundaries and not be bullies. You’re not popular right now
