People shooting off fireworks know the laws. They simply choose not to obey them. I’ve heard fireworks on for at least a week before and after July 4, Labor Day, New Year’s Day, Memorial Day, and every time a sporting team in the area wins a major championship. I’ll still take that over the idiots who go outside and shoot off their guns.

Every time I read a Quickly regarding the misuse of fireworks, I am going to go outside and light off some more fireworks. Some people enjoy the noise-making and display of fireworks just as some people like to look at art or listen to music.

Anyone who pushes for our country to be involved in any war should be equally involved in getting our veterans all the help they need.

The biggest problem with most government agencies is the lack of common sense. Must you leave it at the front door when you hire in?

The Post-Tribune writers, opinion writers and Quickly writers all offer a wide range of facts and opinions. I thank them for keeping me informed and interested in current events.

Separation of church and state means the government stays out of our churches — not the other way around.

To the person who criticized the Civil War re-enactors: If you took the time to talk to them, you would find out it is their hobby and they pay their own way. They do the community a service, especially for our children by making history come alive! You should thank them.

People who hide political corruption should be locked up.

You think girls come to church inappropriately dressed? You should see how they dress for school.
