Quickly, June 8

I don’t care how much you people love your dogs, especially pit bulls. Do not put your dogs near any babies.

Handgun bans, smoking bans. These are things that make people think there’s some perfect world out there waiting for them. But they will take the tax money they generate. I don’t hear anybody crying about that.

So Scott Walker held onto power by outspending his opponent by a possible margin of 15 to 1 if you include the outside group money. If you need to spend that much money to convince about 55 percent of your electorate to vote for you, then maybe you are not as popular as you think.

Thanks, Conway Observatory, and all the people who came out with their telescopes to give my children and myself a once-in-a-lifetime experience of seeing Venus crossing in front of the sun. Why do some (not all) single mothers preface every sentence with “I’m a single mom, so ... ” or “As a single mom ... ”? Who cares? We live by our choices, and that was your choice. Quit expecting some sort of sympathy or special break because of your poor choices.

Sorry, but the Constitution states that there shall be “no religious test” to occupy an office in the country ... part of the separation of church and state. The Founders had learned from their experience in Europe and the mistakes of the Puritans, who wanted to control every aspect of their colonists’ lives. Look it up.

Separation of church and state means keeping the former out of the latter and vice versa.
