Quickly’s Neighbors, June 21

Updated: July 23, 2012 6:53AM

I live in Hobart and have never seen garbage cans with our city logo. I have seen places in Hobart that are technically a Hobart address but have Lake Station garbage pickup. They have their city logo on it.

Your 16-year-old can’t legally use a lighter, not for fireworks or pot, so stuff it. There is a fireworks law in Indiana for a reason. Hobart seems to be the only one willing to enforce it. Good job, Hobart! You hillbillies need to stop with your fireworks.

I’m sitting at the kitchen table with my morning tea
and here comes a peacock going west on 17th Street
in Hobart. Absolutely beautiful. Four feet tall, dragging a gorgeous tail. I
could see beautiful colors
— aqua, purple, gold in
his face and tail and it
had a flamingo-type comb on his head. Where did it come from? Can it survive? What a beautiful mystery. Can anybody figure this out?
