Quickly’s Neighbors, July 31

Updated: September 1, 2012 6:08AM

I was driving through Hobart and I saw a Hobart squad car with a Batman license plate on the front. I’ve also seen several squad cars with university plates on the front and others that do not pertain to Hobart. I don’t think it looks good for Hobart.

I want to give a million thank yous to the NIPSCO men who came to two power failures working several days there, each time restoring power in extreme heat on 53rd and Grant Street. Bless you guys.

For the person who’s been waiting two years to get a garbage can, get in line behind me. I’ve
been waiting five years to get one.

I’m just curious why in Hobart there is a franchise fee on my cable bill. Does that mean I am actually paying the city money to prevent competition that could actually lower my cable bills?

I saw two Crown Point gas stations on the same street with different prices. Someone did not get the message that C.P. has to be the same and highest all the time.

If the Merrillville post office is really busy at 5 p.m., why was there only person working? Had to stand in line for 45 minutes. The line was out the door. All I was doing was picking up a package that the postman would not put in my mailbox cause it was too big.
