I recently drove through Marquette Park in Gary and was so disappointed ... . It used to be so beautiful and well-kept. It’s unkempt and sad to see it now.

Meister Elementary parents, please follow the directions you have been given year after year. Once you drop off your child at the door, please move your vehicle. If you don’t feel comfortable leaving your children until you know they are in the building, then get your fanny out of the car and stand with them, or invest in a pair of binoculars and watch them from the parking lot.

Cleveland Street in Hobart, from Indiana 51 west to the railroad tracks, is in dire need of resurfacing. When politicians campaign for office, they make promises. When they take office, they make excuses. This is a major artery to the city.

Hey, grandma from Hessville, I’d let my grandsons visit with their pants down under their bottoms, too. Whoever made the critical comment needs to check the attire of the local school kids. They’ll see more than those low drawers.
