People, please check your cell phones at the door when you are with someone. Don’t you know you make people feel unimportant when you’re visiting them and you keep taking calls? It’s just rude!

In response to why dogs and cats get more ink than homeless men and women: Men and women can ask for help. Animals cannot. We are their voices.
Tom Philpot’s defense attorney, Ted Poulos, questions whether any elected official in Lake County could get a fair trial. I think what he meant to ask is whether any elected official in Lake County can beat his or her charges. No, he or she can’t.
I hope the judge throws the book at Tom Philpot. He stole from hard-working people who were just trying to do their jobs and get money for the children. He’s just a no-good bum.
Corn is actually a seed, a grain, and yes, also a vegetable. A simple Google search would provide you with your answer as to why schools refer to it as a vegetable.
I realize all the ads on TV pay for things , but who cares if Cindy Crawford’s skin is wonderful? She probably has an easy life, too. Who cares?
Maybe people are stealing copper and other metals to put food on the table. Like it says in your Quickly column, these politicians only care about the top 1 percent. A person can’t sit around and starve while they spend $1 billion on the election. Where are the jobs?
I wonder how many maids poor Ann Romney had to help her raise her five sons.
