Quickly’s Neighbors, Sept. 10

Updated: October 11, 2012 6:06AM

Even a church on the north end of Merrillville isn’t safe from being burglarized. What a shame.

I graduated from Portage High School the same year David Mrak’s father Joseph did. Knowing Joe, it’s totally understandable why David is such a fine upstanding citizen. Because his father is.

I’m on Central Avenue. It’s 3 p.m. Twenty cars are stuck behind a parade of school buses coming out of the middle and elementary school. Some of the buses have one, two or three people. These are full-size buses. It’s a waste of time, money and why are the buses blocking the road? This is a public road.

Good to know someone is looking, hearing and speaking up. Nice article Post-Tribune on the Gary School Board. Kudos to you, Mr. Johnson. Everybody needs to speak up.

What is going on in Cedar Lake? First, the town council is negligent in its decisions regarding the parks department, and now, they have ignored the opinion of the previous police chief. Keep getting rid of knowledgeable people who care about our town, and make no decisions to move forward. I guess our town needs
to start running itself because there is clearly no direction!
