Whatever happened to being an American, as opposed to you gotta be a Republican or a Democrat? Wouldn’t it be better just to be an American and vote as an individual?

Extremism never governs wisely. Look how things worked out under the Nazis or the Taliban. Vote for honest, down-to-earth, level-headed people, not candidates with extreme, wild-eyed platforms.

I’m just curious; if being rich and successful is so awful, why do so many people want to be rich and successful?

The Chicago Teachers Union is on strike. I have to hurry up, get dressed, get out of the house and get to the nearest gas station and fill my tank before the oil companies figure out an excuse to raise the price of gas.

I have been trying to file my claim with BP since Aug. 22. I have a claim number, but no adjuster has answered my call or called me. They don’t care, and the newspapers have moved on. Great!

If you don’t want to get stuck behind a school bus, then take another route. What’s so hard about that?

Oh, shut up about the roundabout. It’s the new way of life. Accept it or take the first shuttle to Venus.

I just put in wooden floors and purchased a stainless-steel refrigerator, stove, dishwasher and microwave. How long are they going to be popular?

Why do you people keep complaining about how others dress? Sagging pants, pajamas in the store, house shoes, short shorts on overweight women — who made you people the dress-code police? Lighten up and move on.
