Gary is planning to provide ethics training to police officers after the recent arrests of officers. Will that really prevent anyone from getting involved in drug dealing or other major crimes? They already know it’s unethical; the few who get involved in it don’t care.
Someone please pave Martin Luther King Drive. You have people going to the Career Center and Ivy Tech. This is a chance to do something good for Gary.
The other day, I was looking
at the property tax breakdown on a house for sale in Schererville as I was thinking of bidding on it. The thing that caught my eye was the fact that more tax was paid to Lake County government than to the Schererville town government. What services does Lake County provide to Schererville that are more costly than what the town provides for itself?
I was driving home recently from Merrillville, going east on U.S. 30. Close to Lake Eliza, there was a State Police car heading west with its red lights on. The officer stopped, then stepped out onto the highway with his arms out and, about eight or 10 feet from him was a red-tailed hawk walking across the highway with something it had killed in its mouth. It walked into a wooded area and disappeared. If it wasn’t for that police officer taking time, the hawk would have been killed by a car or might have caused an accident.
To the young men who stole my political sign Halloween night in Jackson Township: I have you on HD video. Put my sign in my newspaper box, and this will end. If not, we will go the legal route. Won’t your parents be proud?
People of Griffith, put your leaves on the parkway, not the street. Are people so dense that they don’t get it?
