Union Township schools should explain the math on the proposed tax referendum. Twenty-two cents per hundred on a $200,000 home comes to $440, much higher than they’re saying. If they can explain the math, great. If not, it’s obvious why the schools are short of cash.
I wish LaPorte County would do something about people running the stop sign at County Road 900 and Joliet, just east of Westville. It’s really getting dangerous.
I drive into Valparaiso from Washington Township each day and always come in on County Road 400 North-Vale Park Road. I am so glad the overpass is finished; It makes my commute so much easier. No more waiting at a stop light and having to check for traffic running the red light. Naysayers should just use another route.
To the man walking at the Lew Wallace High School track
all summer, to whom I wave and get a wave back while on my way to work: You make my day. Thanks and see you next year.
My wife and I would like to thank the gentlemen who anonymously bought our breakfast at Main Street Cafe in Crown Point on Tuesday, Nov. 27. I wonder if he did this because I was wearing my hat with the patch indicating I was a Korean War veteran. I was surprised because that was the first time anyone ever acknowledged my service.
