As a senior citizen and lifelong resident of Hobart, I know the city administration is just a good ol’ boys club.
I was horrified yesterday while baby-sitting my preschool grandchildren. On a kids’ TV channel appeared an animated “cartoon” full of shoot-’em-up, blow-’em-up constant violence. It was called “Transformers.” Our culture of violence now begins in the cradle.
The Portage mayor was very wasteful by spending $11,500 to mail a glossy newsletter to residents.
Portage has nothing on Valparaiso. We have two slick, expensive publications of propaganda. Have had for some time. Sorry, Portage has to take a back seat to Valparaiso.
I live in the Glenwood subdivision in Hobart, and there are so many code infractions you could spend a week here and not write down all of them. Come on, code enforcement officer.
Bottom line: If everyone does their part, Gary eventually will be OK.
