Quickly’s Neighbors, Feb. 21

Updated: March 22, 2013 10:25AM

In Gary we need the streets fixed. We need the traffic lights working. We need better police service. We don’t need a contest about what we like about Gary. Have one about what we dislike.

There is a bin for old battery disposal in the entrance foyer of the Porter County Administration building in downtown Valparaiso.

I hear that there are bald eagles in Hobart. It will be a magical day indeed when the symbol of American freedom and strength swoops out of the sky and makes off with one of my neighbor’s yappy little Chihuahuas.

A lot of families in Portage are tired of all the people coming to our homes in the afternoons.

Would someone tell me what’s going on with the old Walgreens building on 43rd Avenue and Broadway? I’ve seen some trucks there and I want to know what’s going on.

The town of Merrillville needs to address the drainage ditch at the corner of 57th Avenue and Grant Street. There are limbs, railroad ties, branches, everything where the water would be flowing. And guess what? If that’s not removed, all of us have flooded
basements this spring.
