You defenders of the “gimme gimme gimme” society: You’re fighting a losing battle on this one. Government has no business in ANYTHING voluntary and private. Government is to remove itself from the picture of the private, voluntary things people need money to do.
The reason there are so many problems with the youth of today is how easy the court systems are and parents that want to be friends and not parents or don’t want the bother of it all.
Politics is just like driving. It’s “D” (Democrats) to go forward and “R” (Republicans) to go backwards.
Indiana has a surplus of money and is refunding money to taxpayers. Lake County government is borrowing money and looking for ways to increase taxes. I wonder which one is run by Republicans and which by Democrats?
It will be mandatory to have someone armed with guns in every school, including charters? And they don’t even have to be police? What kind of rare breed of lunatic inhabits the Indiana Statehouse? The only option for those who don’t want guns in schools will be parochial schools.
The mayor of Gary is looking for a niche market? Why not look at similar airports where no planes fly in? Johnstown, Pa., and the airport in southern Illinois ring a bell. They are called “boondoggles.”
Does anyone else wonder which is the bigger mystery, why did it take Lake County Sheriff Buncich a year to discover one jail employee was an apparent no-show or how did Ms. Powell get co-workers at the trucking company to work for her while she collected the salary?
