I agree with the person who complained about tax dollars for schools — the high school we had on Court Street in Crown Point was fine!

I live in Lake Station. It’s amazing how we had to get new garbage cans, then the city got grants to help buy new garbage trucks that had an arm so all they need is one person on the truck, the driver. What kind of a waste is that if two other people are on the truck?

I’m visiting this area for the first time

and I’m astounded by the amount of trash and garbage that’s covering this entire area from Gary on west. It’s unbelievable how much trash is laying around in parking lots and vacant lots.

I was going down Calhoun Street off 25th Avenue towards the expressway after the rain we had, and it looked like there was fuel all over the road and people’s back yards. I don’t know who’s responsible to clean that up. You’d think the EPA would be out there making whoever is responsible clean it up. It smelled terrible.

Hooray to the Hobart police and the Hobart school system for trying to save teenage lives. What a wonderful program.
