Thanks to town officials for providing these huge 98-gallon trash containers. Drive through town and it appears that nobody can fit them anywhere but the front of their homes. Nice trashy look.

My yard is my business and nobody else’s. If I choose not to mow or pick up my leaves, so what?

South Shore Convention and Visitors Authority president and CEO Speros Batistatos wants to build a convention center in northwest Indiana and is looking for a centralized location to build it. I know the perfect site. There is a building in Gary that costs Gary taxpayers hundreds of thousands of dollars a year with no return. It is located at the northwest corner of 5th Avenue and Broadway. As a bonus there is a building directly across the street on Broadway that is slated to be torn down. It would make a perfect location for a hotel for all the guest at the convention center.

I sure hope the new roundabout in Valparaiso doesn’t start a flood of Quicklies. You know how they are, when it comes to broken records.
