The Bill of Rights prohibits government establishment of religion. Want to pray? Do it in church not at a government meeting.

Does the town of Merrillville have a fireworks law in place as yet? It’s just around the corner.

Help is needed in Lincoln Hills

in Valparaiso with the unoccupied house that is falling down and grass is way out of control.

I’m a 68-year-old man and a former 53-year two-plus pack-a-day smoker. I’ve been cigarette free six months and I’ve also lost 125 pounds, thanks to the support of my girlfriend Sandi and the great people at the Portage YMCA. I feel 100 percent better than I did a year ago and I encourage anyone of any age who wants to quit smoking, lose weight and improve quality of life to join your local YMCA.

If bike riders and walkers want to use my streets and roads, I think that they should be able to as long as they get a license and pay for it and carry insurance just like cars have to. Someone has to pay for the roads. If they’re going to use it they owe.
