Don’t worry about the downsizing of our military — if we need more personnel we can always draft the politicans and their sons and daughters.
Looks like the Porter County auditor acted too quickly. He fired employees before he figured out how to make things work without them.
To say that Jesus was a Republican, as one Quickly reader commented, is a little far-fetched. A more accurate statement would have been that if Jesus were alive today, he would be a Republican. Now that’s reality!
I’m wondering, do for-profit charter schools pay any taxes? Or do they just take the tax money that we pay?
Instead of paying to haul it off to a landfill, could cities sell the street sweeper dirt they collect for use as a base for area road construction? That could save some money for cash-strapped cities.
Given our current economy, if we reduce our armed forces, bring them home, and put them on welfare, unemployment compensation and subsidized ACA plans, who is served?

Obama continued many Bush programs like the Bush tax cuts, the two wars, escalating the Afghan war and free-trade agreements, and he caved in on a government health care system. Yet the Republicans call him a socialist for continuing the same policies Bush and Republicans supported.
The quickly about poor Wal-Mart and the greedy workers really struck a nerve with me. To think that workers would want to get paid a living wage — just so they can feed their families! Well, it’s just despicable!
