Don’t blame sequester for federal cuts being made
I can’t protect the Gary/Chicago Airport tower demise. But it is another stupid sequester argument! Sequestration does not take money out of the budget. It takes money out of the planned increase in the budget. They are not reducing the amount of spending, they are just reducing the amount of increase they planned to spend.
The truth is that nothing needs to be cut. More money is in the accounts than was there last year ... period. Cutting White House tours, closing Gary airport tower, starting Yosemite later, etc., gives them more money to spend somewhere else. It is not because of sequestration.
The government is cutting the programs that impact everyday citizens the most to irritate them into believing the Republicans are bad and we need vote for Democrats for 2014. The Dems and Reps are all bad and the sequester has more to do with the total government behaving stupidly than any monetary reason. Besides, if they cut all the programs that affect the average Joe, it would pale in comparison to the money they waste on programs we don’t need. You and I are the last thing this government is thinking about.
Obama can’t blame Bush, GOP for economic woes
David Casson says Obama has created five million jobs. For the sake of the argument, let’s say that is true. The unemployment rate has been above eight percent for the 45 months Obama has been president. How many jobs have been lost under Obama?
People such as Casson keep mentioning that Bush took a huge budget surplus and squandered it. Do you remember 9/11? The attacks on the Twin Towers, the Pentagon, the plane crash in Pennsylvania? Bush spent huge amounts of money to get us out of a mini recession and to make sure we were not attacked on our soil again.
Obama has racked up more debt in four years than all the other presidents combined. That information comes from the Congressional Budget Office. Obama inherited the worst economy since the Great Depression. OK, he also has been in charge of the worst economic recovery since the Great Depression, right?
Did you know that as a United States senator, every time the issue of raising the debt ceiling came up, Obama voted against that and now as president he has been for raising the debt ceiling?
Casson is amused by conservatives and their writings. Are you amused by the 47 million people who are on food stamps, the unemployment rate (if you include those who are employed part-time and those who have given up looking for work, the rate is 15 percent), the negative economic growth in the last quarter, the recent increase in the payroll tax, the coming increase in taxes when Obamacare kicks in and Obama dictating to the Catholic Church on birth control? Were you amused Casson?
