Politicians want to start yet another useless war
Osama Bin Laden was the mastermind behind the terrorist attack on the Twin Towers on Sept. 11, 2001, where 3,000 American people lost their lives. But our corrupt government and incompetent politicians are the ones responsible for allowing these terrorists into this country. On top of this they taught the terrorists how to fly our airplanes.
George W. Bush was responsible for the Iraq War and killings of over 4,000 American soldiers, 170,000 Iraqi people and Saddam Hussein, all because of his lie that Iraq had weapons of mass destruction. We have to remember that Iraq never had a suicide bombing until Bush attacked their country. If we had any honest politicians in office Bush would have been brought to trial for war crimes against Iraq.
Isn’t it enough that a million soldiers died or were badly wounded in the Civil War all because of slavery? Let’s not forget the war in North Korea where over 30,000 American soldiers died. Everyone should remember the Vietnam War where over 50,000 American soldiers died. Look at the thousands of soldiers who came home from Vietnam and committed suicide because of drug and mental problems. Let’s not forget the ones who died from cancer because our politicians sprayed them with a chemical. Look at the Afghanistan War where thousands of our soldiers are being killed or crippled for life.
Let’s put an end to our politicians senseless wars once and for all. It’s our children being sacrificed. Now these moron politicians are warning North Korea because they are testing nuclear missiles. It seems our politicians want to kill millions of more of our loved ones in another one of their senseless wars.
It seems this country didn’t learn their lesson about keeping their big nose out of other countries’ business. Just who died and made the United States ruler of the world, especially when we have idiot politicians running it?
Cubs fan remembers games before there was television
Enjoyed Carrol Vertrees recent article “Can’t beat watching a ball game on radio.”
Being a Cub fan always and now in my 80s, I would like to add on to Carrol’s article.
In 1945, the last time the Cubs won the pennant, I could name their starting lineup but I will leave it as a few: Andy Pafco center field and greatest of all time; Phil Cafferrete the best at first base; and pitcher Hank Borrow who the Cubs gave New York $100,000 to pitch them to the pennant — the Cubs did lose to Detroit in the World Series.
Yet, one of my most fond memories was listening to a Cub game on “Ticker Tape.” You had to have a great imagination.
The greatest Cub broadcaster of all time was not Harry Caray or Jack Brickhouse but Burt Wilson who said, “We don’t care who wins as long as its the Cubs.”
