Save Postal Service
I received a colorful glossy flyer in the mail from my Senator Joe Donnelly urging me to call or write him “Thank You” for voting for Medicare Part D. He needs to thank me for voting for him! I know about “Part D.” I want to know why nothing is being done about the postal service mess.
Due to the stupid laws put in by the government mail service is in real danger. The post office gets no federal funds because they are not a federal agency. If someone robs the mail the feds come after you. Tampering with the mail is a federal offense. How is it not a federal agency?
They ordered the postal service to layaway millions of dollars for retirement, sick benefits, etc. for its employees. Yet the government is denying this to the average citizens and its own hired help.
Now some senator wants the postal carrier to deliver booze to your drunk and rowdy neighbor. Wonder what the mail delivery people think of that! (“Sorry lady, we can’t deliver mail to you box or sell you any stamps but would you care for a shot?”) Talk about special delivery. The mail would be 90 proof. You could get wasted licking the stamps. The slogan “the mail must go through” will become, “I’ll drink to that!”
If the threat to your mail worries you, raise a major shout to your senator and congressman. They started all this, they can stop it!
