Democrats have done much
Gary Ziolkowski, in his most recent letter, nailed it when he wrote that Democrats “voted for, and defended it, and now own Obamacare.”
I wonder if Gary would be interested in what else those progressive, liberal Democrats own? Let’s start about 100 years ago, when they passed the Child Labor Protection Act. Women’s right to vote. The right of workers to form unions. The minimum wage. The G.I. Bill of Rights, which allowed tens of thousands of returning veterans from WWII to go to college.
The FDA, which monitors the drugs that are sold. The EPA, who set standards for the water we drink and the air we breathe. The Civil Rights Law.
I could go on endlessly of the thousands of benefits we enjoy because of the Democrats in Congress. I challenge Gary or any other conservative to name one bill that Republicans in Congress ever passed to help the poor, the workers of this country, or the middle class.
Oh my God, I almost forgot what else those nasty progressive liberal Democrats passed: Social Security and Medicare.
Gary, ask your mom and dad, or any elderly relative, how these two benefits are working out for them.
