It’s that time of year
As we approach the sacred holiday season, get ready for the left’s annual assault on Christianity. There is nothing more offensive to liberals and their political enablers in the Democratic Party then an open dialog on Jesus Christ.
It’s ironic that the self-proclaimed champions of free speech do a 180 when it comes to the Christian religion. They will leave no stone unturned in their quest to squelch the mere mention of the faith that polls show 80 percent of the U.S. population still identify with.
I’ve thought about it quite a bit and the only reason that I can fathom for the liberal hostility toward the faith of our forefathers is that they feel threatened by it. It is as if their god, the state, is being usurped by traditional religion. Oh, sure, they will come up with any number of convoluted arguments why the first amendment doesn’t apply to Christianity. You know the drill. Atheists and other religions will feel offended, the separation of Church and State doctrine mandates it, those Bible thumpers are hateful, yadda, yadda, yadda.
My only response to such specious arguments is “Merry Christmas!”. If that traumatizes my liberal friends, maybe a sympathetic shrink can be found under Obama care.
