Our goose is
Regarding Martin Henrich’s letter and “the goose that laid the golden egg” (Your Views, Jan. 30):
In my world, the “goose” was the middle class — remember the middle class? They used to make a living wage and actually buy homes, Fords, appliances and things. The “golden egg” was the profit made on those items. The rich got richer and the middle class thrived.
Today is the 30th anniversary of the death of the “goose” — the middle class. Thank you, Ronald Reagan and your trickle-down bull.
Mr. Hendrich’s apparently favors the right to work for less. Much less. Indiana can join the other loser states and be grateful for the $8-an-hour jobs. No benefits. No vacations. No nothing.
