CREST HILL — Three apartment buildings suffered roof damage when a storm blew through the area Monday night.
Chief Dave Skoryi said Lockport Township firefighters were kept busy with enough downed trees and power lines that service calls were “stacked until companies became available” because all of them were working during the height of the storm.
At 6:08 p.m. firefighters were called to the 1400 block of Pioneer Road where three 12-unit buildings were damaged.
Two buildings had shingles blown off but part of 1413’s roof blew into the surrounding neighborhood, Skoryi said. The ceiling inside was also damaged.
The building is currently uninhabitable and the Red Cross has arranged shelter for occupants of all 12 units, Skoryi said.
Plainfield and Troy Fire Protection Districts assisted. No injuries were reported.
