The 59ers weren’t kind to Bishop Noll last week, winning 51-14. Merrillville won’t be nearly as easy. The Pirates won by 22 last year.
The Pirates were in midseason form, ripping South Bend Clay 41-20. They rushed for 220 yards and passed for 178.
West Side’s aerial attack scored 34 points against the Brickies. Hobart held off the Cougars by rushing for more than 400 yards.
4. Crown Point
The Bulldogs eked out a narrow win over Lowell last week. The Red Devils could be very good or CP could’ve been off.
The Mustangs proved something with a huge win against LC. Leroy Marsh said his team won’t face a finer defense this year. He’s right.
The Governors make a huge leap into rankings. They took down Griffith last week. It’s not clear yet how big that win was.
7. North Judson
The Bluejays beat down John Glenn last week. How long will the honeymoon last for Kirk Kennedy?
8. Boone Groove
The Wolves picked up where they left off last season with a surprising 20-point victory over Wheeler. They get Noll this week.
9. East Chicago Central
The Cardinals were an accidental omission in the preseason rankings. They face an LC team looking to rebound.
The Bombers beat KV in an impressive season opener. They get North Newton this week.
