1. Jennings stars
Cornerback Tim Jennings deserves praise for holding receiver Josh Gordon in check. Gordon, who had an NFL-record 774 receiving yards in his last four games, was targeted 10 times but had only three catches for 67 yards, most of which came on his 43-yard score in the final minute. “It’s unbelievable,” cornerback Zack Bowman said. “Tim is one of the best corners in the league.”
2. Matt matters
Matt Forte had a solid outing against the Browns, who boasted the NFL’s fourth-best run defense coming in. He had 127 yards on 24 carries. The Browns were allowing 3.5 yards per carry before Sunday. Forte averaged 5.3 yards with a long of 24.
3. Haden’s absence
The Bears were already winning the battle against standout cornerback Joe Haden, but their chances improved when Haden left with a hip injury late in the third quarter. Brandon Marshall had a strong game, especially against Haden.
