Gary man shot dead while driving in Chicago

CHICAGO — A man from Gary’s Glen Park section was shot and killed early Saturday while driving in the West Pullman neighborhood.
Police responded to a call of “shots fired” in the 11600 block of South Wallace Street about 5:40 a.m. and found a vehicle had crashed into a porch, police said.
The driver, Mark Woodson, 36, was dead at the scene with a gunshot wound to the chest, police said. The Cook County Medical Examiner’s office identified Woodson and said he lived in the 5000 block of Virginia Street in Gary.
Chicago detectives are investigating.
