Man wanted ride to work from his ex

A west side man with an extensive criminal history will be held without bail when he is arrested on charges of burglary, intimidation, residential entry, theft and battery.

Rodney C. Dinwiddie II, 29, of 1548 Wilson St., allegedly forced his way into his ex-girlfriend’s apartment and threatened her when she refused to give him a ride to work about 6 a.m. Oct. 10.

The 24-year-old victim told Sgt. Brian Farrow she left her home after Dinwiddie pushed past her and into the house. She left and called police, who used her keys to open the door and find the suspect inside the woman’s bathroom smoking a cigarette.

Dinwiddie has pending criminal charges for resisting law enforcement and maintaining a common nuisance. He previously has been charged with criminal confinement and battery. The victim in the most recent incident obtained a protective order against Dinwiddie, court records show.
