The Post-Tribune sports section has been named one of the 10 best daily sections in the nation by the Associated Press Sports Editors.
The Post-Tribune also picked up a national Top 10 honor in the special section category of the APSE contest for its 64-page high school football preview section, TimeOut Football. The P-T competes in the 30,000-75,000 circulation category.
The Post-Tribune was the only Northwest Indiana newspaper to be honored by APSE.
“It’s a great honor to be recognized as one of the nation’s best by the Associated Press Sports Editors — not once, but twice,” said Post-Tribune sports editor Mark Lazerus. “And it’s a great testament to our incredibly talented and hard-working staff of writers and editors.”
“Of course, sports fans in Northwest Indiana have known for years that we provide the kind of depth and breadth of coverage — from high schools to colleges to the pros — that they can’t find anywhere else,” Post-Tribune executive editor Paulette Haddix said.
Recently, the Post-Tribune was named one of the best sports sections in the state by the Hoosier State Press Association, behind only the Indianapolis Star.
The Post-Tribune is a Chicago Sun-Times publication, part of the Wrapports LLC.
