One step at a time
for Red Devils
Right now for the Lowell girls swimming program, mindset is the key.
While the Red Devils have been amongst the top of the Northwest Crossroads Conference for the past couple of seasons, 2012 is a retooling experience for the 14-member squad and nine-year coach Sherry Hilbrich.
“Just the whole learning experience,” Hilbrich said about teaching the fundamentals, like scoring and events, to her mostly green team.
With last Tuesday’s win over conference rival Griffith, their first victory in a 1-4 campaign, the girls are working with more momentum. Next up on the schedule is another NCC tilt with Highland on Tuesday. Part of this week’s focus is improving on starts.
“They were thrilled, that was a good confidence boost,” Hilbrich said about the win.
