ROCHESTER, Mich. — Oakland knocked down 12 3-pointers in the first half, while bulding a 27-point halftime lead in an 88-55 rout of Valparaiso on Wednesday night. Elena Popkey (career-high 25 points) was 5-for-5 from behind the arc in the first half and Amy Carlton was 4-for-4 for Oakland.
Elizabeth Hamlet, a transfer from Oakland, led the Crusaders with 12 points, her highest output for Valparaiso.
The Crusaders shot 1-of-11 from 3-point range, but were 14-for-15 from the free-throw line.
