Women’s basketball: Valparaiso earns season sweep over Butler

INDIANAPOLIS — Valparaiso ended its losing streak in Hinkle Fieldhouse that dated back to 1983 with a convincing 71-58 triumph that gave the Crusaders the season sweep on Saturday.
VU shot a season-high 52.1 percent from the floor for the game and made 7-of-11 (63.6 percent) from long range, erasing a one-point halftime deficit to win back-to-back games on the road for the first time since March of 2008.
Tabitha Gerardot scored a career-high 26 points and pulled down eight rebounds.
