The Skinny: The Crusaders are looking to rebound from back-to-back Horizon League losses tonight at the Klotsche Center in Milwaukee. VU is 6-14 all-time against the Panthers, losing its two regular-season contests against the Panthers (47-39 and 50-31) last season but winning its first ever Horizon League tournament game with a 47-39 win over the Panthers in March.
Milwaukee is coming off a 63-60 win over Cleveland State. Angela Rodriguez shot 5-for-7 from 3 and recorded 19 points in the win. Rodriguez is fifth in the league in scoring with 15 ppg. Emily Decorah had 15 points in the Panthers’ win over Cleveland State, while Sammy Tucker (11.9 ppg.) recorded 10 points.
The Crusaders were tied with UIC with 12:27 left to play on Saturday but could not take the lead and eventually dropped the contest, 82-75. Charae Richardson scored a career-high 18 points to lead VU. Gina Lange added 14 points and Jessica Carr contributed a season-best nine points. Always steady Tabitha Gerardo had eight points, eight rebounds and five assists.
