Welcome to life in the ACC, Notre Dame.
The men’s basketball team begins league play with a nationally televised home game against Duke.
The Blue Devils travel to South Bend on Jan. 4. The game is at 3 p.m.
“Certainly, an amazing challenge for us playing a program of that magnitude,” coach Mike Brey said in a video posted on the school’s website Thursday. “What I have to talk to my team about is there will be 17 more regular-season games after the Duke game.”
Duke’s visit highlights the 2013-14 Irish schedule, which was released Thursday. Notre Dame plays another one of the conference heavyweights, North Carolina, at home at 11 a.m. on Feb. 8. Notre Dame closes the regular season March 3 at North Carolina.
“I think it’s going to be one of the most difficult schedules we’ve play in our history,” Brey said
