Bearcats roll to Griffith Invitational crown
Wheeler gained sweet revenge over Hanover Central en route to the Griffith Invitational title on Saturday afternoon.
The Bearcats, who suffered their first loss of the season 3-2 (19-25, 25-22, 25-20, 20-25, 16-14) on Tuesday, finished 4-0 in the Griffith Invitational — including a 2-0 sweep over the Wildcats — to improve to 19-1 overall.
Wheeler defeated Gavit (13-8) 25-10, 25-8 in the championship match.
For the tournament, Shannon Doyle finished with 37 kills, 11 aces, seven blocks and 43 digs. Haley Plothow recorded 19 kills and 21 digs, Natalie Roe had 15 kills and 20 digs and Belle Bravo had 40 assists and 17 digs.

Tarrah Lasky, Valparaiso
The senior setter got the Vikings back on track in Duneland Conference play with wins over Portage and Lake Central last week. She finished with 26 assists and eight digs in the team’s 3-1 win over Portage, and 23 assists and 19 digs in the team’s 3-0 win over Lake Central.
