1. Chesterton
The Trojans separated themselves from Valparaiso and Merrillville with a 34-point win over the Vikings.
2. Lake Central
The Indians are full of great players and they could be No. 1. Probably the best team LC has had since it reached the state final in 1993.
3. Merrillville
The Pirates move up a notch despite giving up 41 points to Michigan City last week.
4. Kankakee Valley
Looks like the Kougars could run the table. The only question is a game against Andrean next week.
5. Valparaiso
The Vikings got schooled by the Trojans and drop two spots in rankings. They play Crown Point tonight.
6. Hobart
The Brickies look like a team making a climb back to the top. They beat a good Andrean team last week. Lowell tonight will be tough.
7. Andrean
The 59ers flip-flop with Hobart after getting beat 37-28 last week. Still the best 2A team around and still a good bet to beat bigger schools.
8. Crown Point
The Bulldogs walloped Portage last week. They can prove they belong one more time if they beat Valparaiso tonight.
9. Boone Grove
The Wolves just keep getting better every week after defeating Bowman last week. They play East Chicago tonight in a tough game.
10. Lowell
The Red Devils have won two straight, beating Highland last week. They make major waves if they drop Hobart tonight at the Inferno.
