1. Chesterton
The Trojans keep the No.1 spot after defeating Michigan City last week. Merrillville won’t be nearly as easy tonight.
2. Merrillville
Wonder if the Pirates will go with two-quarterback system tonight. They’re tough in big games in Northwest Indiana.
3. Lake Central
The Indians adjusted well last week without Yancey, who is out for the year.
4. Andrean
The 59ers showed no mercy last week against a defenseless Wheeler team. It’s going to be hard for Boone Grove to get traction against them tonight.
5. Hobart
The Brickies were ruthless last week against KV. Expect more good play against Mishawaka.
6. Crown Point
The Bulldogs weathered the storm against Valparaiso last week. They will have a much tougher slog against LC.
7. East Chicago
Morton will be a tough out for the ultra-athletic Cardinals, who beat up on Hammond last week.
8. Kankakee Valley
The Kougars had a tough ending to a spectacular season.
9. Whiting
The Oilers make their first appearance in the P-T poll (probably should’ve been earlier but the guy doing the rankings was asleep here). They play West Central in a huge game.
10. Rensselaer
The Bombers slip into the last spot after defeating North Newton last week. They play Bowman tonight.
