P-T GIRLS top 10
1. Michigan City
Just four more days until the game many region girls hoops fans have been waiting for — MC at Merrillville.
2. Merrillville
Moving the Pirates up means Tuesday’s matchup will officially be No. 1 in the area vs. No. 2. Maybe it’s fixed.
3. Lowell
The Red Devils have a couple NCC road games before holiday tournaments at Carroll and Warsaw.
4. Whiting
How much better are the Oilers than their opponents? They are second in the state with only 23.9 ppg against.
5. LaPorte
The Slicers could spoil that No. 1 vs. No. 2 matchup by upsetting Merrillville on Friday night on the road.
6. West Side
The Cougars drop a few spots after a loss to South Bend Washington, which they really should have won.
7. Portage
The Indians’ next big test comes on Tuesday when they travel to LaPorte for a big DAC matchup.
8. Hobart
The Brickies bounced back from back-to-back losses with an impressive NCC victory over Munster.
9. Bishop Noll
A five-game winning streak has the Warriors moving into the top 10, but tougher games are upcoming.
10. Kankakee Valley
If the Kougars want to stay in the NCC race, they must win Friday night when Hobart comes to town.
Player of the week
Lexus Fox, West Side
The sophomore guard did everything she could to keep the Cougars in a 76-74 loss to SB Washington on Saturday with 25 points, including 16 in the second half.
