P-t boys top 10
1. Munster
The Mustangs hold onto first place after walloping East Chicago last week. They have Penn and Lake Central next.
2. Andrean
The 59ers are poised to sneak into the top spot eventually. Hard to see them losing a game soon.
3. Merrillville
The Pirates’ blowout of Michigan City reaffirms their status as a top-tier team after losing a heartbreaker to Andrean at home.
4. Lake Central
The Indians are hard to figure out. Their loss against Chesterton was tough. Merrillville on Friday won’t be easy.
5. Valparaiso
The Vikings move up the ladder after an impressive win at home against Crown Point.
6. Marquette
The best Class 1A team in the region plays at LaCrosse on Friday.
7. Chesterton
The Trojans are a skittish 2-3 team. They beat LC and lost to Michigan City. Go figure.
8. Bowman
The Eagles are the best 0-4 team in Northwest Indiana. They should have at least two wins.
9. Bishop Noll
The Warriors make a top-10 move this year for the first time. Still a long time left to see where they fit.
10. Hanover Central
The undefeated Wildcats play at South Central and Kankakee Valley on Friday and Saturday. That’s a tough weekend.
Player of the Week
Larry Crisler, Bishop Noll
Crisler had 49 points, 19 rebounds and 10 steals combined in wins over North Newton and Hammond last week.
