Noll on a roll
Bishop Noll’s boys warmed up for their bid for a fourth straight Greater South Shore Conference title by winning the Lowell Invitational on Saturday.
Up by a point over Morton heading into the final event, the Warriors’ team of Robby Lorenz, Brayden Banske, Jake Miller and Aaron Kruse won the 400-yard freestyle relay in 3 minutes, 36.19 seconds to beat out the Governors 82-76. “When push comes to shove, those kids pull together,” Noll coach Pam Armagast said.
That 400 free relay effort was five seconds better than the Warriors’ meet-record effort at last year’s conference meet. That time could drop Saturday at this year’s GSSC meet at Wheeler. “We’re not even at our peak yet,” Armagast said.
The Warriors’ other first place came in the 200 free relay, where Anthony Repay, Banske, Miller and Kruse went 1:36.99.
