P-t boys top 10
1. Munster
The Mustangs are ranked No.1 in the IBCA poll. They get Lowell and Valparaiso this week.
2. Andrean
The 59ers rebounded after a loss to Chesterton last week with a victory over Highland. They play Griffith Friday night.
3. Merrillville
The Pirates get Michigan City and Crown Point in their next two games. They won close one at Lake Central last week.
4. Bishop Noll
The Warriors beat Marquette by 13 for the GSSC title. They are at Whiting and Michigan City on Friday and Saturday.
5. Valparaiso
The Vikings rallied for a 10-point victory over LaPorte. They’re at Crown Point on Friday.
6. Chesterton
The Trojans have won six of their last seven. They play Lake Central and Valparaiso in next two games. It’s a crucial stretch for them.
7. Bowman
The Eagles are moving up the ladder after their fourth straight win against Fort Wayne Northrop last week. They play Trader’s Point on Saturday.
8. Marquette
The Blazers weren’t good enough to beat Noll. They lost to the Warriors for the second time in the GSSC title game. They play Wheeler next.
9. Lake Central
The Indians lost a tough one to Merrillville. They can’t get over the hump against the Pirates.
10. East Chicago
The Cardinals make their first top 10 appearance this year. They had won four straight before the West Side game Thursday.
Player of the Week
Jelani Pruitt, Merrillville
Pruitt scored 22 points in the Pirates’ 60-57 victory over Lake Central on Saturday.
