A pointer at a baseball camp helped Devin Bafia make his college choice.
The Valparaiso High School pitcher said he has made an oral committed to play baseball at Evansville. The 5-foot-10 left-handed pitcher said Evansville assistant coach Ben Bachmann gave him a tip at a PBR camp in McCook, Ill., a couple of months ago to make sure he was following through correctly with his motion.
“It helped me throw three-to-five miles harder with one little step,” Bafia said.
The coaching impressed Bafia. He said he will make it official in April.
“I liked the campus,” Bafia said. “I liked how everything was right by the baseball field. The freshmen dorms for the baseball players was literally a minute away from the field. It’s nice to have everything close and right there.”
