First team

Paige Kraushaar

Boone Grove senior

By the numbers: 220.5 avg., 290 high game, 524 high series, first in sectional, sixth in regional, first in semistate, sixth in state

Raves: Simply the best bowler on the state’s best team. She made clutch shot after clutch shot in the postseason for the Wolves. She’ll bowl at Stephen F. Austin.

Carly Larson

Merrillville seniorBy the numbers:

210.6 avg., 266 high game, 465 high series, second in sectional, second in regional, 13th in semistate, first in state

Raves: She made history as the first Northwest Indiana bowler to win a state singles title. She’s headed to Valparaiso in the fall to continue throwing strikes.

Allison Sellers

Lake Central senior

By the numbers: 215.3 avg., 289 high game, 496 high series, first in sectional, 12th in regional, second in semistate, 15th in state

Raves: She had a breakout senior season with the second-highest average in the area while leading LC to a state runner-up finish. She’s headed to Grand View University to continue bowling.

Jackie Rhoda

Portage sophomore

By the numbers: 200.0 avg., 259 high game, 445 high series, second in sectional, third in regional, third in semistate

Raves: She made three straight stepladder finals in the postseason while helping lead the Indians to a fourth-place finish in the state finals.

Jessica Dziezak

Highland junior

By the numbers: 183.6 avg., 245 high game, 464 high series, second in sectional, seventh in regional

Raves: She was the high average in the Duneland, barely missed advancing out of semistate and helped the Trojans advance to the state finals for the first time.

Nicole Walton

Portage junior

By the numbers: 206.7 avg., 247 high game, 458 high series, first in Holiday Classic

Raves: She had the second highest series in the regional team event and had the sixth highest average in the state after leading the Porter-LaPorte Conference.

Candice Tovo

Chesterton senior

By the numbers: 175.0 avg., 233 high game, 407 high series, first in sectional, first in regional, seventh in semistate

Raves: An OK regular season that included a wrist injury turned into a great postseason with back-to-back singles titles and an eventual 17th-place finish in the state finals.

Second team

Mattie Smith

Boone Grove senior

By the numbers: 182.7 avg., 279 high game, 448 high series, third in sectional

Raves: She bowled well in the semistate and state finals in helping Boone Grove win its first state title in any sport in school history.

Catie Bales

Highland sophomore

By the numbers: 177.8 avg., 232 high game, 418 high series, first in P-T Bowl O-Rama, eighth in sectional

Raves: She started the season off strong with a first in the Bowl O-Rama, and ended well in helping Highland advance to its first girls state finals.

Heidi Tucker

Chesterton sophomore

By the numbers: 186.9 avg., 257 high game, 443 high series, fifth in sectional, 8th in regional, seventh in semistate

Raves: She accentuated a very good regular season with a great postseason singles run to the state finals, where she finished 11th.

Sarah Bond

By the numbers: 195.8 avg., 246 high game, 489 high series, third in sectional, seventh in P-T Bowl O-Rama

Raves: She finished her career with the third highest average in the WestLake and advanced to the regional in singles.

Kayla Yadron

By the numbers: 174.3 avg., 246 high game, 451 high series, sixth in sectional, 10th in regional

Raves: She finished her career with a nice postseason run in singles, but her contributions to a team state title were more important.

Caroline Dienes

Lake Central junior

By the numbers: 194.4 avg., 255 high game, 470 high series, second (tie) in P-T Bowl O-Rama

Raves: She had the fourth-highest average in a stacked WestLake Conference and finished in the top 5 in two area regular-season tournaments.

Kierstyn Rush

Lake Central senior

By the numbers: 168 avg., 440 high series, fifth in sectional, ninth in regional, sixth in semistate, eighth in state

Raves: Her resume was enhanced greatly by a great postseason run in singles, and also bowling well for the state runner-up LC in the semistate and state finals.
