VOLLEYBALL EXTRA

Hoese happy to be back at alma mater

Hobart’s volleyball program posted 20 wins for the first time in decades last season thanks to coach Kristi Hoese. But when the opportunity to coach at her alma mater Griffith came along, she jumped at the chance.

It was a hard move for the coach, who spent four years leading the Brickies, and an even harder one when the two programs got together last week for a Northwest Crossroads Conference battle.

But her new team came through for her winning in four games, 25-15, 22-25, 26-24, 25-22.

“Coaching against Hobart was very intense, not just for me but for my girls as well,” Hoese said.
