Merrillville, 6-1, Jr., F/C
By the Numbers: 13.2 ppg., 6.6 rpg., 3.4 apg., 2.4 spg., 52% FG
The Skinny: The Michigan State-bound standout is a versatile all-around player, who not only has the ability to take over a game, but a knack for getting her teammates involved and making them all better.
East Chicago, 5-10, Jr., G
By the Numbers: 13.7 ppg., 9.5 rpg., 1.8 spg., 1.6 apg., 1.4 bpg.
The Skinny: Has already been offered by DePaul University, while also being recruited by IUPUI, Wright State and UIC. Very athletic with the ability to score from any spot on the floor. A strong rebounder, her quickness and athleticism makes her a nightmare matchup for any defense.
Chesterton, 5-9, Sr., G/F
By the Numbers: 17 ppg., 5.0 rpg., 3.0 apg., 2.0 spg., 46% FG
The Skinny: A good scorer who had double figures in virtually every game last year. A smart player who can shoot or drive to the basket and finish. Being recruited by D-II and D-III schools. “Her game really picked up in all areas over the summer,’’ coach Jack Campbell said.
Michigan City, 5-8, Jr., G/F
By the Numbers: 11.9 ppg., 6.9 apg, 3.8 spg.
The Skinny: With nearly 600 points scored in two years, she will likely need to shoulder an even bigger scoring load this season. “With her skills, size, quickness, and ability to shoot a jump shot, you’re just not going to be able to take that away,” LaPorte coach Skeeter Heath said.
LaPorte, 5-4, Sr., G
By the Numbers: 11.7 ppg., 7.4 apg., 3.2 spg, 2.0 rpg.
The Skinny: The University of North Alabama recruit broke the Slicers’ career record for assists after two years. An unselfish player who sacrifices for the betterment of the team, this all-DAC first-teamer shot 49 percent from 2-point range and made 41 3-pointers.
