And some of the readers wonder why I and thousands of others truly hate the Busch brothers.
Kurt got suspended for being a jerk. His brother has been reprimanded multiple times and is just as much of a jerk as Kurt.
There are some readers who admit the consternation involved in picking one of them for our weekly contest.
When picking Kyle this week, Shannon Zart said, “I’m picking Kyle Busch to win or wreck.”
He didn’t crash, but his engine blew, resulting in anyone who chose him among their five drivers to miss our top 10. That included Erik Watland, who added after his pick of Kyle, “Don’t know why ... do not like him, but had to pick him.”
Same goes for me, Erik. Why did I pick him? Not for the same reason as I’ve been picking Carl Edwards — because a reader asked me to.
So who did well this week by not picking Kyle or Kurt or Edwards?
We actually had a three-way tie at the top at 200 points between Jim Rearick of Hobart, Alek Shmagranoff of Munster and Robin Cox of Lake Station. All three qualify for our drawing that is about a month away.
Correction: Mistakes happen, especially when you’re compiling a bunch of Fantasy NASCAR entries. Last week John Daras Sr. should have been second with 202 points, so he also qualifies for our drawing for the first time.
