Bowling roundup: New Thanksgiving eve event at Stardust III

Stardust Bowl III in Dyer will host a new doubles tourney on the night before Thanksgiving. The King of the Hill Baker Team Doubles will start at 10:45 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 21, with first place paying $1,200 (based on 75 doubles entries).
Tourney is open to all bowlers with youth earning scholarship money. Format will be five Baker team games of qualifying on a 43-foot sport shot. The top 32 teams after qualifying will advance to bracket-style match play.
The entry fee is $60 per team ($30 per bowler) with $48 going to the prize fund ($12 for lineage). Payouts are the same night. For details, visit bowlstardust.com/KOTHBakerDoubles or call 322-3666.
Galka’s Pro Shop tourney: Galka’s Pro Shop will host a singles/doubles tournament at 1 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 21, at Wheatfield Lanes open to USBC sanctioned bowlers.
The format will have three games of singles and three games of doubles (bowlers can choose to compete in one or both) at a cost of $20 per event. For more details, call 322-6070 or 964-7252.
